I Left My Eyes On Your Nightstand

In collaboration with Flora Fee Mayrhofer

In the duo show “I left my eyes on your nightstand” Agnes Eeg-Olofsson (SE) and Flora Fee Mayrhofer (AUT) are once again coming together, this time through a playful research on documents, belief and the concept of framing. The duo steps into the role of the other – framing the story being told by the document of the person in question. Reinterpreting each others’ gaze through photography - referring to the other’s way of visual language and storytelling.

A) the story that occurred during Floras contract to fall in love with (1) and B) the story of what had happened before Agnes apparently moved to Arles (16).

Observing a person through a certain gaze becomes a mirrored portrait of a story, playing with fictional reality, performativity and how belief in itself can be the reason something is considered true in the first place. Happening within the in between space of the gallery’s corridors - the images refer to the imaginary space and life they hold within themselves.

The exhibition touches upon how we view intimate connections and the con- cept of identity. The bridge between tale and telling could be believing and as performing love, the question remains – does it need to have happened to be true?
